About Us
Hedayat Centre is a cultural NGO which was established in 2013. Hedayat Centre was set up in response to requests from the Muslim community based in London, UK. The community expressed a desire for a forum to provide services and programmes to empower them and to enable them to develop their ideas & beliefs.
As a result of consultations and discussions with members, regular monthly meetings were organized. The meetings would start with recitation of the holy Quran and followed by Quranic lessons and lectures on the Quran and related subjects.
From January 2020 Hedayat Centre has expanded its lecture activities by developing structured scientific lectures which are presented through Roshd Centre. Due to the pandemic; a couple of months later in March 2020 both Hedayat and Roshd Centre programmes & activities were moved to an online format to protect the members & the larger community & the meetings were held on a weekly basis.
In 2021 a group of academic intellectuals and other professionals who have had previous experience in running community projects joined the Hedayat Centre to help us provide a more structured and integrated approach in delivering the various activities and services to fulfil the needs of the community.
The revamped Hedayat Centre expanded the range of activities to include religious and scientific lectures; family activities & services as well as entrepreneurial advice and services. The Hedayat Centre has expanded the range of services and activities offered and has benefited from contributions from like-minded professionals from other cities and countries to enable us to cater for the needs of its community members.
Constructive feedback and comments from the community has enabled Hedayat Centre to adapt and improve our services.
From the feedback provided, the lectures and programmes were well received.
